The lineage of Imām Abū Ḥanīfah, particularly the name of his grandfather, remains a subject of historical intrigue. Various sources attribute different names to his grandfather, reflecting diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds. This investigation not only sheds light on Abū Ḥanīfah's ancestry but also enhances our understanding of the historical context that shaped his influential Islamic jurisprudence.
The Ḥanafiyyah and their usage of Hadith has been a topic of debate for centuries of Islamic discourse. It has been often characterized that they “ignore” or “reject” certain Hadith that don’t fit in their paradigm. In this article I explore this idea in light of their usage of the Quran, to help shed light on the inner workings of the Fiqh and their usage of Hadith.
